![]() Hip Hop 1, 2, & 3 (by placement): Our hip hop classes focus on musicality, dynamics, and technique. Musical Theatre: Bring on the drama! This class is part dance, part acting! Students explore being "in character" while learning a variety of dances from various musical productions. Some well known tap dancers include Gregory Hines and Savion Glover. Over time, they will develop an ability to tap in advanced arrangements of sounds using a variety of steps and techniques. Tap 2 & 3/4 (by placement): Tap is all about rhythm.primarily with your feet! Students will start with the basics. An emphasis is placed on kicks, leaps, and turns therefore, jazz is also a great class for students who want to prepare to audition for their school's dance team. High energy and lots of sass.bring it to jazz class. This is a great class to round out a student's dance training. Students develop style and musicality in jazz classes. Jazz is known for being both sharp and smooth. Bob Fosse and Gus Giordano are credited as two of the originals in creating this style of dance. Jazz 2/3 & 4 (by placement): There are multiple styles of jazz, but most know it as the style seen on Broadway. Students will learn the basics and over time develop the ability to tap in advanced arrangements of sound, using a variety of steps and techniques. An emphasis is placed on kicks, leaps, and turns. Tap 1 & Jazz 1: Students in this class are encouraged to enroll in ballet. *Beginner/recreational ballet students ages 11+ can take Teen Ballet/Lyrical at teacher's discretion. It is an emotion based style of movement with choreography that focuses on the lyrics of a song. Lyrical dance combines ballet, jazz, and modern techniques. This class also incorporates lyrical dance training. ![]() Students who enjoy taking other styles of dance (such as jazz, tap, or hip hop) will benefit from taking ballet. ![]() Ballet helps students develop an awareness of body placement, coordination, poise, balance, flexibility, agility, and strength. Teen Ballet/Lyrical: Teen Ballet/Lyrical is ideal for beginner recreational students (11+ years old) who want to learn proper dance technique.
